The oldest Jewish Community Center in America, the 92nd Street Y first began serving the community with Adult Education classes in 1874. A non-profit with a full range of services, the Y has been a leader in community center programming, one of the first facilities to offer a nursery school, a geriatric center and parenting center. Proudly Jewish since its inception, the Y is open to members of all creeds and celebrates its pride in culture by creating awareness. The Bronfman Center for Jewish Life offers a wide selection of academic pursuits related to Jewish culture and the range of concerts and lectures offered make it a hub of the Jewish social scene in upper Manhattan.
