The Chateau d’Angers, a medieval castle overlooking the Loire River, is open to the public and contains a 14th century woven tapestry that is over 100 meters long. The tapestry depicts 70 apocalyptic scenes from the Book of Revelations. The castle is open for tours and is illuminated at night, making for a spectacular vista. The seat of power for the Duke of Anjou, the Chateau is an imposing structure whose long shadows would have loomed large in the lives of the Jewish community of Angers
