Address
Piazza Costaguti, 31, Rome, Italy

Cuisine type

Entering Antico Forno del Ghetto is like walking into 2 colliding worlds. The breads and pizza are all vegetarian and kosher, but once you order and take your wrapped goods to the cash register in the adjoining shop, don't be surprised by the mortodello and other ham products staring out from behind the counter. The pizza bianca (literal translation: white pizza, but in reality, baked pizza dough drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with salt) is some of the best (not just in this reviewer's opinion but also judging from the rapidity with which it jumps from oven to bag) in Rome. And the Pizza Margherita is pure perfection -- Antico Forno pizza has the perfect cheese to sauce ratio. All breads sold by weight. Challah is available for Shabbat before 3pm on Fridays.
